For one afternoon Villa Lauriston, a beautiful mansion built during the 1920s in the style of a Florentine country castle, will open the doors to the public for MUSIC AT HOME. The building is located in its own park, away from any public space and surrounded by old Redwood trees. Our guests will have the rare opportunity to enjoy some beautiful views before the concert and wander around in the gardens, down into the valley and over to the vineyard. Leading Bay Area musicians will perform masterworks for piano quintet by Shostakovitch and Schumann in the big marble hall. A light buffet dinner will be served after the performance, with red and white wine made on the property.

The address is 5050 Alpine Road, Portola Valley CA 94028. 15 minutes drive from Highway 280 Exit Alpine Road.

We offer to help connecting guests to each other who wish to share a ride.

Start time of the event on Saturday, June 5th, 2010: 4:00pm. Music at 4:30pm. Park gate open early.

Please allow enough time to check in.

The park gate opens at 3pm from where it is a 2.3 mile drive to the house. Registered guests are encouraged to come early in order to enjoy the property and its beautiful nature and breathtaking dramatic setting. We advise the ladies to bring a pair of extra shoes.

Suggested donation: up to $ 45, Refreshments, buffet dinner and wine from the property included.

If you cannot attend the concert for some reason, please let us know by canceling your reservation. In that case we can allow others to join us if the event is fully booked and we have a waiting list.
